Welcome!

Linda JeffersIn a world of so many great photographers and writers, I am venturing into some unknown territories, leaving comfort zones, finally very willing to practice the art of seeing. By maintaining the practice of posting daily photos, I hope to continue learning about the possibilities that I trust are out there for the taking.

Come join me on my journey!

A Entertainment Right Out The Window.

Two Lens Pro Go Rentals

So JJ says I haven’t posted lately. Well, I’ve been working on finishing up Unit 4 (of six Units) of the New York Photography Institute assignments – a 3 year course (3 years is this March!). I am now back to working on again after a long hiatus. I finished Unit 4 !!!!!!

I’m headed out to yet another workshop December 5th weekend at the Salton Sea led by Keith Skelton and thought I’d rent a couple of lenses I’d never used. One is a fisheye 8-15mm and the other is a prime lens, a 14mm. These lenses arrived today.

So here is a post for JJ……four shots, 2 shots with each lens.

I’m going to have to read up on these lenses, in particular the fisheye.

Interesting read.

Butterflies are difficult to shoot unless they are positioned exactly (head to rear) laterally, equaly distant to the camera plane. Even then the depth of field is so minimal I either get the legs in focus, the head in focus, the large eye in focus, or body in focus.

But when I go out to shoot, something always shows up…..if I’m present.

Finally A Colorful Sunset.

I had a feeling tonight’s clouds might produce a colorful sunset so I parked myself by the lake shore and waited.

When I looked at the sunset shots I’d taken once back home I wasn’t thrilled. So I took this photo into Topaz and jazzed it up a bit with Topaz Adjust 5.

I like the red and black moody look.

Treated this incredible sunset tonight with Topaz Adjust 5.

This is what the photo looked like before I took it into Topaz and treated it.
