Welcome!

Linda JeffersIn a world of so many great photographers and writers, I am venturing into some unknown territories, leaving comfort zones, finally very willing to practice the art of seeing. By maintaining the practice of posting daily photos, I hope to continue learning about the possibilities that I trust are out there for the taking.

Come join me on my journey!

Pre-light, hot, humid morning…photos of what is beyond the dark sky.

Walking with the Canon 5d Mark III on a tripod I shot west north west over the 18th lake on the Arnold Palmer Course here at Mission Hills CC. Still dark at 5:42am. However the longer 8 sec exposure, at f/3.5, ISO 640 brought out what I couldn't see.

We'd had an incredible sunset last night with a weather system that came in. I set my alarm this morning knowing I was going out with my camera to see if the projected similar weather would bring an equally great sunrise. I noticed lots of clouds. The question was will the clouds allow the sun to do its magic. As you can see some color started at the horizon but the cloud cover stopped the sun from adding more color to the scene. 15 sec, at f/16, ISO 1250. Time: 6:05am. All photos taken with the Canon EF 16-35 L II USM lens.

I rarely take verticals. 6:09am, 5 sec at f/16, ISO 640.
