Welcome!

Linda JeffersIn a world of so many great photographers and writers, I am venturing into some unknown territories, leaving comfort zones, finally very willing to practice the art of seeing. By maintaining the practice of posting daily photos, I hope to continue learning about the possibilities that I trust are out there for the taking.

Come join me on my journey!

Late Afternoon, Last Day of August 2015 Selects.

This shot was taken on a tripod, shooting into a stand of trees. I loosened the ball head to freely move vertical ly. As I clicked the shutter, using a slower shutter speed, I moved the camera downward to create the motion blur.

I was standing still, looking out at the beauty and what I'd shoot next when the motion of the ground squirrel caught my attention. Since we are not allowed to put bird seed out at the cabin anymore we miss seeing our daily critters entertain us feeding throughout the day.

I got so lucky, this and a few other blackbirds, came so close and performed for me.

Not the least bit phased by my still presence, doing what he came to do.....drink and bath.

When this bird landed inside this perfect wood frame I was ecstatic thinking how did I get so lucky. However it was a very difficult shot to process and spent way too much time trying to subdue the background and lighten the dark bird so it popped in the frame.

Couldn't have asked for another great pose!

Couldn’t have asked for a better great pose!

See the face in the wood? I didn't see it until I was in Lightroom editing the photo. Little gifts are fun.
