In a world of so many great photographers and writers, I am venturing into some unknown territories, leaving comfort zones, finally very willing to practice the art of seeing. By maintaining the practice of posting daily photos, I hope to continue learning about the possibilities that I trust are out there for the taking.
Come join me on my journey!

I’m in love with the black and white hiker shot. Really great.
The B&W seems like a very difficult shot, Linda. How did you manage to shoot straight into the sun, and still keep the hiker? I’ve got some ideas, but I’d like to hear from you, if you care to share it.
You’re correct Jim, shooting into the sun left the hiker dark and featureless. I took this photo into Nik Efex Pro software and applied a preset that gave me the look you see here.
Thanks. Don’t have that software, but I can try some other things. Did you shoot it B&W, or convert it from color?
