Brian, Jen, Diana, and Melissa
This weekend 26 women will be at my home. Twenty five will be sleeping all over the house for the 5th Annual Birthday Slumber Party.
With Debbie’s arrival tomorrow at noon, I don’t know how much time I’ll have to post. I know I’ll be shooting a lot.
I’ve started carrying the Canon 7D fitted with a EF 50mmf/1.4USM lens on our morning hikes. The 50mm lens lightens the camera load and forces me to shoot more close ups do to the limited field of view. I’m now thinking more about what aperture I want to use to create the look I want.
Settings: 1/30 sec at f/2.0, ISO 640
Settings: 1/2000 sec. f/2.0, ISO 125

"Oh please, one photo of our group with the morning light behind you?" Melissa, Katya, Tracy, Ann and Eric.

And even later in the hike...."Please, one more shot. And hurry before the sun comes up over the mountain when I won't be able to get the shot I want."

Fifteen minutes before Katya walked in to the meeting to speak, she let me take some photos just outside the room.

And this was this morning for those of you who don't use or didn't see the photos I posted from our hike this morning.

Photos from this morning were shot with an iPhone camera. This was Stacy's first 5:45am hike. She was blown away (no pun intended) by how beautiful it is at that god awful time.

Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. Walking from El Rancho to the meeting I quickly pulled out my Iphone and shot this less than peak color.
Spent most of today, studying Adobe Photoshop CS5 related to layers and completed the second online Advanced Photomontage assignment by filling a blank Photoshop document with collected clip art. I believe I’ll be using some of this clip art I collected in the next assignment.

I'm finally beginning to feel a bit more comfortable with Photoshop since working on this background document today. Yeah.
Happy birthday to you Jen!
In a world of so many great photographers and writers, I am venturing into some unknown territories, leaving comfort zones, finally very willing to practice the art of seeing. By maintaining the practice of posting daily photos, I hope to continue learning about the possibilities that I trust are out there for the taking.
